Advancing Electronics Manufacturing in Thailand:
Highlights from a Milestone Season

The first half of 2026 marked an exciting chapter for the Global Electronics Association in Thailand, with a series of initiatives focused on strengthening industry collaboration, advancing technical knowledge, supporting standards development, and nurturing the next generation of electronics professionals.

From hosting technical sessions and establishing Thailand's first standards committee to participating in a new industry exhibition and connecting students with industry opportunities, these activities reflect our continued commitment to building a stronger and more globally connected electronics ecosystem.

Driving Design Excellence and PCB Quality Performance

On March 30, 2026, we hosted our first technical session of the year in Thailand, bringing together more than 45 professionals from across the electronics manufacturing industry to explore Design Excellence and PCB Quality Performance.

The event featured a Guest of Honor address by Mr. Niwat Phansilpakom, Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Department at the Electrical and Electronics Institute (EEI) of Thailand. His remarks emphasized Thailand's growing importance within the global electronics supply chain and highlighted the critical role that internationally recognized standards play in strengthening industry competitiveness.

The technical program featured practical insights from industry expert Mr. Amba Prasad, who discussed essential PCB design considerations that influence manufacturability and long-term product reliability. Ms. Sirikarn Sitthipongrungporn, Master IPC Trainer, also shared best practices for achieving consistent PCB quality performance and meeting global quality benchmarks.

The session provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and reinforced the importance of aligning design and manufacturing practices to support high-quality electronics production.

Establishing Thailand's First General Standards Committee

Another significant milestone on March 30, 2026, was the successful convening of Thailand's first General Standards Meeting, which led to the formation of the country's inaugural standards committee.

This achievement represents an important step forward for Thailand's electronics industry. Standards committees play a vital role in developing internationally recognized standards that guide electronics manufacturing, quality assurance, and process improvement across the global supply chain.

By establishing a national committee, Thailand now has a formal mechanism to contribute technical expertise and industry perspectives directly to the development of future standards. This strengthens domestic capabilities while ensuring the country's voice is represented in shaping the future of global electronics manufacturing.

Supporting the Inaugural Electronics Manufacturing Expo (EMAX) Thailand 2026

On April 1–2, 2026, we were pleased to participate in the inaugural Electronics Manufacturing Expo (EMAX) Thailand 2026, a new industry platform that brought together manufacturers, technology providers, and industry leaders from across the electronics value chain.

As part of the conference program, Ms. Sirikarn Sitthipongrungporn, Master IPC Trainer, presented sessions on Best Practices in Electronics Assembly & PCB Quality Performance and Evaluation Techniques for PCB Reliability. Her presentations focused on practical approaches to improving manufacturing quality while aligning production processes with internationally recognized IPC standards.

The successful launch of EMAX Thailand marks an important addition to the country's electronics industry calendar, and we are proud to have been part of its inaugural edition.

Building the Next Generation of Electronics Professionals

On April 28, 2026, we partnered with Mahanakorn University of Technology and the Thailand Printed Circuit Association to deliver the Student-to-Industry Pathway Program.

The program featured presentations from university leaders, industry representatives, and our team, providing students with valuable insights into career opportunities and emerging industry trends.

Looking Ahead

These initiatives demonstrate the Global Electronics Association's ongoing commitment to supporting Thailand's growing electronics industry through technical education, standards development, industry collaboration, and workforce development.

As Thailand continues to strengthen its position within the global electronics supply chain, we remain dedicated to working alongside industry partners, educational institutions, and government organizations to build a skilled workforce, promote manufacturing excellence, and advance internationally recognized standards.
