Certifications
If your company has a CIT on staff, the cost of the certification is covered in the total cost of the apprenticeship; the Association will simply add the required credits to the CIT’s account in CQI. | If your company does not have a CIT on staff, the company is responsible for the cost to either send a staff member to a training center to be trained as a CIT, or to send apprentices to a training center for their CIS. |
On-the-job Training
Mentors
Training for on-the-job technical and behavioral competencies is done by mentors within the company. The employer must have at least one mentor available per registered apprentice. This can be set up in one of the following ways:
one mentor assigned to each apprentice
| a pool of mentors, each assigned to specific skills and available to all apprentices
