As President and CEO of the Global Electronics Association, Dr. John W. Mitchell leads the organization’s worldwide operations and staff, working closely with the board of directors to define and execute its strategic vision and aspirational goals. Since joining the Association in 2012, he has guided it through an evolving business landscape, helping members strengthen supply chain resilience and achieve sustainable financial success.

Dr. Mitchell has championed initiatives that deliver measurable member value—driving innovation in standards development, expanding industry-led education and workforce programs, deepening member engagement, and advancing pro-industry policy advocacy. Most recently, he has focused on positioning the electronics industry as a strategic cornerstone of global growth, advising governments and industries on developing comprehensive electronics strategies to accelerate innovation, competitiveness, and economic advancement.
