In cooperation with productronica 2021, IPC hosted the popular Hand Soldering Competition (HSC), on November 16-19. Skilled competitors demonstrated their expertise in hand soldering while competing for cash prizes. The first-in-person trade show held in Germany since the onset of the COVID pandemic, IPC and productronica welcomed 21 hand soldering experts representing 14 electronics companies.                

In cooperation with the Instrutec tradeshow in Tallin, Estonia, IPC re-launched its popular Hand Soldering Competition, hosting skilled competitors on September 8-10 who demonstrated their expertise in hand soldering while competing for cash prizes. The first hand soldering held in-person since 2019, Instrutec welcomed 26 hand soldering experts representing eight electronics companies.                            

In cooperation with 2021 Global Industrie, IPC re-launched its popular Hand Soldering Competition, hosting skilled competitors on September 6-9, who demonstrated their expertise in hand soldering while competing for cash prizes. The first in-person trade show held in France since the onset of the COVID pandemic, Global Industrie welcomed 36 hand soldering experts representing 18 electronics companies.     

IPC’s national hand soldering competitions return to Europe this year with events scheduled in France, Estonia, and Germany. 

IPC will conduct regional hand soldering competitions for professionals in Europe along with the world hand soldering championship at Electronica Germany in November.

IPC, in conjunction with What’s New in Electronics Live and ART-- Advanced Rework Technology Ltd., conducted the IPC Hand Soldering Competition in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on 25-26 September 2018. Seventeen competitors went soldering iron to soldering iron, with the hope of winning the coveted hand soldering competition crown.

IPC’s Hand Soldering Competition returns to the United Kingdom and What’s New in Electronics Live on September 25-26, 2018. This year, the competition will be run in association with Advanced Rework Technology Ltd.

The competition was fierce as 27 competitors went soldering iron to soldering iron in IPC’s Hand Soldering Regional Qualification Competition at SMT Hybrid Packaging 2018 in Nuremberg, Germany. Of the 27 boards submitted by the competitors only four of the electronic assemblies were functional. Taking first place and a cash prize of €300 was Catherine Cardinal-Simoan, Thales International, who earned 422 points out of a possible 445.

IPC, in conjunction with Global Industrie/Midest, Snese and IFTEC, conducted an IPC Hand Soldering Competition in Paris on March 27-30, 2018. The competition was fierce as 48 competitors went soldering iron to soldering iron to compete for the coveted hand soldering competition crown. For the first time in the IPC hand soldering competition history, the top three winners came from the same company, Matra Electronique in France. Taking first place with a cash prize of €300 and winning a JBC soldering station was Nathalie Kaladgwe, who earned 440 points out of a possible 445. Kaladgwe will be invited to compete at the IPC World Championship Hand Soldering Competition at IPC APEX EXPO 2019, San Diego, in January 2019

IPC’s Hand Soldering World Championship was held November 14 at productronica 2019 in Munich, Germany. This global event included 17 competitors representing companies in France, Hungary, Indonesia, Poland, Germany, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Vietnam, United Kingdom, Japan, India, China and the Philippines.
