IPC presented Committee Leadership, Special Recognition and Distinguished Committee Service Awards on Monday, June 17 at IPC’s SummerCom Standards Development Committee Meetings in Raleigh, N.C. The awards were presented to individuals who made significant contributions to IPC and the industry by lending their time and expertise in the development of electronics manufacturing standards.

IPC announces that IPC APEX EXPO® has been recognized by the Trade Show News Network (TSNN) as one of the top 25 fastest-growing trade shows in attendance in the United States. In addition to IPC APEX EXPO, the additional winners were recognized for their overall attendance growth from 2016 to 2018 and include a diverse mix of industries, including amusement parks, baseball and boatbuilders

IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries® announced today that all 149,700 sq. ft. of exhibit floor space has sold out for IPC APEX EXPO® 2018, making it the largest IPC APEX EXPO in the last decade. The premier technical conference and exhibition will take place February 27–March 1, 2018, at the San Diego Convention Center.

When the IPC APEX EXPO show floor opens on more than 20 equipment vendors, software providers and customers from across the electronics industry will participate in an IPC Connected Factory Exchange (CFX) Showcase. The IPC CFX Showcase -- a technological demonstration operating in real time -- will deliver standardized machine data from participating exhibitors through the cloud and onto visitors’ mobile phones.

IPC -- Association Connecting Electronics Industries® invites engineers, researchers, academics, technical experts and industry leaders to submit presentation topics and descriptions for IPC Electronics Materials Forum, a new technical conference focusing on developments in materials and processes associated with electronics assembly and manufacturing. The conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minn., November 5-7, 2019.

IPC’s High Reliability Forum and Microvia Summit, a three-day technical conference to be held in Hanover, Md., May 14-16, will focus on electronics for mil-aero, automotive, and long-life applications.

IPC’s popular standards, J-STD-001, recognized globally for its criteria on soldering processes and materials, and IPC-A-610, the most widely used electronics assembly acceptance document, complement each other when used together. IPC offers a new technical education course, Process and Acceptability Requirements: Utilizing J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 Together, to provide instruction on how best to use these documents jointly.

In conjunction with Global Industrie/Midest and SNESE, IFTEC and IPC conducted the first regional European qualification for the IPC Hand Soldering Competition in Lyon, France on March 5-8, 2019. The competition was fierce as 32 competitors went soldering iron to soldering iron to compete for the coveted hand soldering competition crown.

Starting with a record high of 50 attendees joining the “First Timers Session” that was led by representatives of WHMA’s Board of Directors; this meeting was to educate the participants on the association and conference, discuss industry topics, and introduce and connect the First Timers with other members throughout the conference.
