Professional soldering specialists are invited to demonstrate their skills at the 2026 Hand Soldering Competition Regional Qualification Germany, held at the Global Electronics Association booth during electronica in Munich.
Competitors will have 60 minutes to assemble a complex printed circuit board in accordance with IPC-A-610 Class 3 criteria. IPC Master Instructors will evaluate workmanship, process quality, electrical functionality, and completion time.

Europe is one of the world’s three largest markets for AI data centres. However, most of the value created by that demand accrues to companies and supply chains outside of the EU. Today, the Global Electronics Association released From Chips to Systems: Building an End-to-End EU Strategy for Data Centre, Cloud Infrastructure and AI, a joint report with DECISION Études & Conseil that quantifies that gap, layer by layer, and offers a practical policy roadmap to close it.

The Global Electronics Association will participate in electronica 2026, taking place November 10–13, 2026, at the Trade Fair Center Messe München in Munich, Germany.

The 2026 Cable & Wire Harness Competition – Regional Qualification Estonia will take place on 15–16 October 2026 at TalTech University (Main Lobby) in Tallinn, Estonia.
The competition invites skilled technicians and harness assembly specialists to demonstrate their expertise in wire preparation, crimping, splicing, and assembly — all under the requirements of IPC/WHMA-A-620, the industry standard for cable and wire harness assemblies.
Participants will compete under timed conditions for 60 minutes using identical materials and tools, with results evaluated by certified IPC judges.

Join the 2026 Hand Soldering Competition - Regional Qualification Estonia for Students and Professionals, being held 14-16 October 2026 at TalTech University (Main Lobby) in Tallinn, Estonia.
Competitors will demonstrate their soldering skills on a complex printed circuit board assembly within 60 minutes - for prizes, recognition, and the chance to secure a spot at the Hand Soldering World Championship. The student competition will take place on 14 October, followed by the professional competition on 15–16 October.

More than 120 participants gathered onsite in Toulouse, with an additional 20 joining online, for the 2026 Electronics Day Design France, organised by Global Electronics Association in collaboration with IPC Designers Council France. Over two days, the event brought together PCB designers, manufacturers, aerospace engineers, technical experts, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge, discuss practical engineering challenges, and strengthen collaboration across the European electronics ecosystem.

IPC Builds 2026 is a week-long series of standards development meetings to be held in Europe for the second time, following the first Barcelona success in 2024. Over the years, volunteers worldwide have participated in IPC standards development committee meetings to bring the most trusted standards for electronics manufacturing to the industry. In 2026, we’re excited to head to Paris for this traditional and industry-driving event.
