The Global Electronics Association is today the voice of the electronics industry in Europe and is supporting the entire electronics supply chain. With a mission to promote industry growth and strengthen supply chain resilience, the Association is increasing its presence and resources in Europe.
Founded in 1957, the Global Electronics Association has grown its presence and footprint in Europe over the last 3 decades. Back in 2003, the Global Electronics Association was IPC and opened a European representative office in order to provide better, more timely service to the industry in Europe. In 2016, the Association opened a new office in Brussels, Belgium. The office delivered the full suite of IPC products and services, including member support, standards development activities, educational opportunities, and more to all members in Europe. In 2022, right after the end of the pandemic, IPC increased its investment and strengthened its presence in Europe and opened its Europe headquarter in central Munich, Germany.
With this first time ever legal presence in Europe, the IPC Europe office registered as IPC Electronics Europe GmbH in Germany serves as a home to the fast growing IPC Europe team, now reaching 10 full-time equivalent experts fully dedicated to serving IPC activities to Europe industry, including education and standards development, membership development and networking activities.
During the last 5 years, the Association made a real difference in Europe enhancing its Europe advocacy activities, working more and more closely with national industry associations and positioning the Global Electronics Association as the pan-European voice of the electronics manufacturing supply chain to Europe's policy makers. The European office has been renamed and is now called the Global Electronics Association Europe GmbH.
