IPC hosted a Hand Soldering Competition in Budapest, Hungary, at InnoElectro March 28-30, welcoming 42 competitors from 29 European electronics companies.

Kenneth Harris II, Eng.D. will deliver the opening keynote at Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE). Acknowledged by Forbes Magazine as one of the world’s youngest and most influential individuals in the field of science, he will present “Building the Future,” on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wis.

In recognition and acknowledgment of their extraordinary contributions to the Wiring Harness Manufacturer’s Association (WHMA) and the cable and wire harness industry, two long-time WHMA members were presented with coveted WHMA awards. A WHMA Hall of Fame and a WHMA Volunteer Excellence Award were presented at WHMA’s 30th Annual Wire Harness Conference on February 16.

In keeping with its commitment to showing appreciation for its strong volunteer community, IPC introduced two new awards in IPC standards development at IPC APEX EXPO 2023. The awards, Committee Leader of the Year and Volunteer of the Year, were named in honor of key leaders and volunteers from IPC standards development efforts.

From the show floor – where 375 exhibitors displayed a multitude of high-tech machinery and in some cases artificial intelligence – including cutting-edge assembly, testing and inspection equipment, software automation, laser systems, additive manufacturing and factory of the future technologies, to dozens of technical conference sessions and PD courses covering such hot-topic tracks as smart factories, PCB fabrication and materials and high-density interconnects, IPC APEX EXPO 2023 was fueled by the possibilities of new advances in electronics manufacturing.

Last week at IPC APEX EXPO in San Diego, Calif, five competitors squared off to determine who was the best of the best at PCB design.

In recognition of her significant contributions and leadership in workforce development while building a culture of continuous learning within her organization and the electronics industry, Coreen (Cory) Blaylock, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, earned an IPC Excellence in Education Award at IPC APEX EXPO 2023.

In recognition of their leadership roles and support of IPC standards, education, advocacy, and solutions to industry challenges, three of the industry’s best and brightest were presented with an IPC Rising Star Award at IPC APEX EXPO 2023. Award recipients were Sarah Czaplewski-Campbell, Paige Fiet, and Christina Trussell.         

Three IPC volunteers who have fostered a collaborative spirit, made significant contributions to standards development, and have consistently demonstrated a commitment to global standardization efforts, were presented with a Dieter Bergman IPC Fellowship award at IPC APEX EXPO 2023.

In recognition of their leadership and their significant contributions of time and talent to IPC and the electronics manufacturing industry, three IPC volunteers were presented with the IPC President’s Award at IPC APEX EXPO in San Diego, Calif on January 24, 2023. Recipients were Steven Bowles, Lockheed Martin; Stan Rak, SF Rak Company; and Savita Ganjigatti, Sienna ECAD Technologies Private Limited.     

IPC presented its highest corporate honors to two IPC member companies, Zentech Manufacturing, Inc. and AT&S during the IPC Annual Meeting/Awards Ceremony at IPC APEX EXPO 2023. The Peter Sarmanian Corporate Recognition Award was presented to AT&S. and the Stan Plzak Corporate Recognition Award was presented to Zentech Manufacturing Inc.       

The best technical conference papers of IPC APEX EXPO 2023 have been selected. Voted on through a ballot process by members of the IPC APEX EXPO Technical Program Committee (TPC), the paper authors will be recognized during show opening remarks on Tuesday, January 24.

In conjunction with electronica 2022, IPC hosted its popular IPC Hand Soldering Competition World Championship in Munich, Germany November 15, 2022, welcoming 10 competitors from across the globe. 

The Wiring Harness Manufacturing Association is accepting nominations for three recognition awards — Hall of Builders, Hall of Fame and Volunteer Excellence.

WHMA/IPC invites engineers, researchers, academics, technical experts, and industry leaders to submit proposals for the Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE), to be held May 16-18, 2023, at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wis.
