IPC CEMAC 2023, with a theme of “Building an Intelligent Future: Innovation and Cooperation in the Electronics Industry,” was held successfully in Shanghai on October 27, 2023. The event drew a crowd of more than 300 attendees from 200+ companies across the electronics industry.

In conjunction with NEPCON Vietnam 2023, IPC hosted its popular IPC Hand Soldering and Rework Competition in Hanoi, Vietnam on September 6-8, 2023. This tenth competition got “heated” as 35 contestants from 13 electronics companies in Vietnam vied for top prizes.

The critical reliability of electronic prosthetics in the brain to help restore movement to a paralyzed hand, enhancing the durability of EV automotive infrastructure, testing criteria and challenges of working with lead-free materials, and evaluation of reliability and maintainability for safe airborne structures are just a few of the agenda items offered at IPC’s High Reliability Forum October 17-19 in Linthicum (Baltimore), Md.

IPC China Skills Competition has been upgraded to IPC Masters Competition China 2023. The competition was co-organized with Pudong New Area Association for Quality and Technology Shanghai and held July 11-13 in Shanghai.

Ed Reynolds, space exploration sector program manager at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), will present his keynote address, “The DART Mission: Earth Strikes Back,” at IPC’s High Reliability Forum on October 17 in Linthicum (Baltimore), Md.

In 2022, IPC celebrated a decade of successful support to India’s electronics manufacturing industry and launched a series of activities including member networking events and skill challenge competitions throughout India, culminating in the inaugural Integrated Electronics Manufacturing & Interconnections (IEMI) event in New Delhi and Bengaluru last August. Based on the success of last year’s event, IPC will once again play host to IEMI events in Chennai on August 1 and in Pune on August 3.

IPC is now accepting abstracts for technical paper presentations and technical posters for the Electronic Circuits World Convention 16 (ECWC16) at IPC APEX EXPO 2024, and professional development courses at IPC APEX EXPO 2024.

This year, the cable and wire harness manufacturing industry came “wired” to the Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE), May 16-18, and left inspired with access to new technologies, solutions to challenging issues through training and education and a network of leading-edge companies, industry leaders and subject matter experts.

For the first time, IPC hosted a regional hand soldering competition in Vincenza, Italy, at Focus on PCB May 17-18. Welcoming 28 competitors representing 20 Italian companies, contestants competed to build an assembly in accordance with IPC-A-610, Class 3 criteria and were judged on the functionality of the assembly, compliance with the assembly process, and overall product quality.

IPC and the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) will host a virtual conference, “Critical and Emerging Environmental Product Requirements” on June 6 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm EDT. The event will explore the latest environmental requirements that impact product design, manufacturing, supply chain management, and technology innovation.

IPC and the International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society (IMAPS) will host an “On-Shoring Advanced Packaging and Assembly,” workshop July 10-12, 2023, in Washington, D.C.

IPC is now accepting abstracts for the High Reliability Forum, the international conference focusing on Class 3 and safety critical electronics for mil-aero, automotive, medical, and long-life applications that are subjected to harsh use environments.
