IPC is now accepting abstracts for IPC E-Textiles 2023, the international conference for the e-textiles industry, to be held live and in-person on Monday, January 23, 2023, in San Diego, California, in conjunction with IPC APEX EXPO 2023, the industry’s premier conference and exhibition for the electronics industry.

From revolutionary advancements in electrical wire processing technology displayed on the show floor to expert insights conveyed in reimagined training and educational offerings, the Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE), provided expanded networking and increased access to industry solutions that helped 2,574 attendees address business challenges and prepare for the future.

The second annual Golden Gnome Awards ceremony was held on May 10 at IPC SummerCom 2022.

IPC and the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) will host a virtual conference, “Critical and Emerging Environmental Product Requirements” on June 7 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm EDT. The event will explore the latest environmental requirements that impact product design, manufacturing, supply chain management, and technology innovation.

The newly appointed IPC APEX EXPO Technical Program Committee is inviting engineers, researchers, academics, technical experts, and industry leaders to submit technical conference abstracts for IPC APEX EXPO 2023.

In cooperation with InnoElectro, IPC hosted its popular Hand Soldering Competition (HSC), on March 29-31. Skilled competitors demonstrated their expertise in hand soldering printed circuit boards while competing for cash prizes.

IPC is now accepting abstracts for technical paper presentations, technical posters, and professional development courses for IPC APEX EXPO 2023. The technical conference will be held January 21-26, 2023, and professional development courses will take place January 24-26, 2023, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego.

Hundreds of experts from around the world will discuss electronics manufacturing standards in more than 80 standards meetings May 7–12, at IPC SummerCom in Milwaukee.

How will a spacecraft harness connect every electrical device on the Europa Clipper, a Jupiter-orbiting spacecraft that will study Jupiter’s icy moon Europa? Jacklyn Perry, harness engineer at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU APL), will provide the answer when she delivers the keynote address, “Harnessing Europa,” at the Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE), on May 11. 

In recognition and acknowledgment of their extraordinary contributions to the Wiring Harness Manufacturer’s Association (WHMA) and the cable and wire harness industry, four long-time WHMA members were presented with coveted WHMA awards. Two WHMA Hall of Fame and two WHMA Volunteer Excellence Awards were presented at WHMA’s 29th Annual Wire Harness Conference on February 16.

At the 29th WHMA Annual Meeting on February 18, the WHMA Board of Directors welcomed three new officers and one new member.

The Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo, (EWPTE), to be held in person at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wis., May 10-12, is the exclusive showcase for the electrical wire harness, wire, and cable processing industries. Produced by the Wiring Harness Manufacturer’s Association (WHMA), IPC, and the Wisconsin Center District, EWPTE connects buyers with local, national, and international manufacturers and distributors. Registration for EWPTE is free.

In recognition of their leadership roles and support of IPC standards, education, advocacy, and solutions to industry challenges, four of the industry’s best and brightest were presented with an IPC Rising Star Award at IPC APEX EXPO 2022. Award recipients were Tim Burke, Francisco Fourcade, Thomas Marktscheffel, and Christina Rutherford.

The inaugural IPC Design Competition at IPC APEX EXPO 2022 resulted in a win for Rafal Przeslawski, Xilinx, whose printed circuit board design earned him the top prize.

In recognition of their significant contributions of time, talent, and ongoing leadership in IPC and the electronics industry, Susann Chen, Joe Kane, and John Walls were presented with IPC President's Awards at IPC APEX EXPO on January 25.
